DUE TUE 5/15 Pericles Funeral Oration
One of the Athenian values was courage. The soldier that they’re talking about had courage because in one of the sentences they said that he “nobly fought and he nobly died”. This can be good for the trail of Socrates because Socrates died with courage as well, he died for what he believed.

DUE FRIDAY 5/18 Apology Reading pp. 61-70
I liked this sentence because God is the only one that can judge a person. In this sentence it shows that Socrates is a very brave man and that he has a lot of courage.

DUE THR 5/17 The Apology pp. 51-61
This sentence was really interesting because it’s true; how can you not believe in something but believe in the youth of it. This sentence was really confusing but I was very interesting as well.
DUE WED 5/16 The Apology
I chose this sentence because it was really interesting. In this sentence Socrates is saying that he has already been accuse for something and he’s more afraid of the people that put hi in that situation than Anythus. If I was Socrates I would’ve felt the same way; I would’ve been more mad at those people than Anythus.

Imus question #3....
Imus Posting
The NAACP wants Imus to be silence because of the racial and sexist things that he mentions on his radio show. They thought that it was inappropriate for imus to have said all these things.
2. According to Frank Rich, why should Imus not be silenced?
Frank Rich thinks that Imus shouldn’t be silence because other celebrities have said racial things. So why do they have to silence him? He’s not the only one that has said something like that.

DUE WED 3/14 - Personal Reflection (Plato)
**When I was younger my parents had told me that if I didn’t go to sleep that the “CUCUY” was going to come and get me. But the only reason they told me this to get me to go to sleep. After they had told me this I always went to sleep right away. But then when time passed they told me that it wasn’t true so I was actually relieved because the “CUCUY” was a bad thing .So since that day I really don’t believe my parents when they tell me something like that.

DUE TUE 2/27 – Iliad Assignment
1. I didn’t understand the part where achillies and the other people are having a feast??? What’s the purpose of it???
2.My opinion about Agamemnon before reading this section was that I thought he was selfish and very cocky. But know I’m starting to think that he actually cares. Because if he wouldn’t of cared then he wouldn’t of want achillies back so they could win.
3.I haven’t had a chance to read it all but I think that a part where they tried to persuade was when they were offering achillies all these gifts to get him to fight again. They were persuading him to go back…….. ???? (not sure)
DUE THR 2/22 Iliad Reflection - Book One
A) Achilles’ rage is justified and I support his decision not to fight, even if it means the Greeks might lose lots of men, or even the war itself.
I would agree with this statement because for example if I didn’t like someone and they wanted me to do something for them I wouldn’t do it. If I was achillies I might of done it for the warriors and for Greece but not for Agamemnon because he just wants people to remember him and he doesn’t even care who dies or gets hurt……well yeah……that what I think……..

Descriptive Writing Assignment, Due 2/7
One of the scene that I thought Brad Bury was really descriptive was when Montag was running away. During that scene Brad use lots of descriptive words.
Some of the descriptive words are:
* Gasping
*Hurtling
*Plunged
I thought these were all good descriptive words and they also made me visualize and understand the scene better.
Descriptive Writing Assignment, Due Tues. 07
3 descriptive words
- creaky
- more than 200 words
- reading word per word
I thought that the phrase "reading word per word" was really descriptive because it made the reader feel like if reading gets me bored.

Descriptive Paragraph

Descriptive paragraph *aLmA's DrEaD*
As I walk up those creaky stairs, I start thinking about how boring it's going to be. Looking at more than 200 words, turning page per page, reading word per word, its the thing that I dislike the most and they leave it for homework. How boring.....
Fahrenheit 451 pp.21-40
-Well one thing that I found confusing was the fact that reading books was illegal. Yeah…..that really confused me. I also felt confuse because they had to burn all the books. I’m really confuse but hopefully I’ll get the hang of it.
2.) Montag compares Mildred (his wife) to Clarisse and says that Clarisse seems older. In what way does Clarisse act more mature and why do you think she is more mature? Why does Bradbury (the author) make the contrast between the two?
-Well I think that Clarisse acts more mature and older than Mildred (his wife) for several reasons. One reason is because Clarisse is more open to things. She communicates with people more than Mildred. Mildred is just to different from her. I mean what was all the suicide thing. That explains it all she is just too confusing and doesn’t know what she wants. Well I think that the author compares both of them because they are both two different people.
Fahrenheit 451 pp.3-21
-I really didn't understand why Mildred tried to suicide herself..and why she didnt want to admit it after she was ok.
1) Even before Montag and his wife Mildred talk to one another we know that they are alienated (distant) from one another. How does the author convey this?
-Well I mean the fact that mildred tried to kill herself, says it all she was probably not happy with realationship with Montag. Also because the author explains that one night Montag comes home and goes straight to another room.
